LUKE SKYWALKER

Luke Skywalker is a character in the original  trilogy of the   Star Wars movie franchise where he was  played  by Mark Hamil.  Luke Skywalker  was  introduced in  Star Wars  Episode  IV: A New Hope. 


Luke becomes apprenticed to the  Jedi master  Obi Wan Kenobi and learns the way of the Force.  Later, Luke becomes an important figure in the  Rebel Alliance, leading the fight against the  Galactic Empire.


As the son of  Padme  Amidala  and her husband,  Anakin Skywalker  a  former Jedi also known as the Sith  Lord  Darth Vader, Luke  comes from a  family strong in  the ways of the  Force. Luke is the twin brother of  Princess Leia  Organa of the planet  Alderaan , foster daughter of  Senator Bail Organa and a leader of the Rebellion. Leia eventually  recruits her brother Luke into the Rebel cause.  


The  Expanded Universe describes Luke as a powerful  Jedi Master.  He later becomes the  Grand Master  of the  New Jedi Order  as well as the father of  Ben Skywalker, maternal uncle of Jacen Solo and ancestor of  Cade Skywalker.
